  • Keep in mind that all info pulled need to have the calendar year parameters
    • Are you sure it needs those parameters? I suspect if you used the most current possible, and monitored last editor and last edit date, you would be miles ahead. The problem with adding dates is that it really becomes work because everything will need to be updated, even stuff that has not changed, and there is infrastructure to build and maintain for it etc. We can discuss.


I can see where Dr. ___, MD is somewhat duplicating. Is this just about AR or about how we do credentials on wiki? We do have non-physician PhD Scientists, so without that the MD there will there be a loss of info. I suppose we could use some convention to deal with it. What would that convention be, though? Only physicians get to be called Dr. ___? We may end up with a new person from a more conservative background who takes issue with that. I don't feel strongly about this, just putting down some thoughts, would be interested to hear those from others.

Booking meetingsI am starting this because there are discussions whether it is appropriate to just "book into" someone else's calendar without first confirming, and someone mentioned Doodle.
Doodle.com is a service that facilitates booking times with multiple people. Some staff use it, and I think it's a good tool. Are we all on board with using it? If so, is it something we should document here and then fan out to people who may not know about it yet?
  • I think it is entirely appropriate to check someone's availability in Outlook and to send them an invite for a time that appears available. There are some questions whether that is acceptable practice, and some concerns about the practicality of doing it when some people don't use their calendar, or there is a mix between U of M and WRHA calendars. Do PSMs have thoughts on this ?

Cancelling a PO with receiving in EPICI split this out from Procurement at U of M since I would never have thought of searching for it there; it will be linked from there. However, what else should this be linked in with? Is it part of Category:Recruitment?
  • This is not part of recruiting or hiring. I don't understand the process well enough, or where in the process this happens. Should it be part of one of the hiring checklists?
    • How is it part of hiring? Cancelling a PO is not part of hiring. Purchase Orders (PO) is for purchases such as office supplies, lab supplies, contracted services etc.

    • The access given to the individual will depend on the employees role. The form doesn't allow you an option as to "full access," "read only access," etc.; that's why you put the persons role on the form so that the person giving access knows what access to provide.

    • How about reducing emails as a team. The Email Charter has some good steps, but we would need to agree as a team that these are good steps. Sometimes they mean changing our email behaviours in ways that may seem rude at first, but are actually in the interest of both sender and recipient. Are we ready to use emails better?

    Presumably it's not the Managing Director who updates the schedule. Do we ever not allow the change? If we almost always allow it, why not send it to the person who deals with the schedule instead and only CC the MD? That way MD doesn't need to do anything unless intervention is required.     • I don't understand why we have this table. Wouldn't the vast majority simply report to "the PSM for their section"? If so, we could direct them to a list of that ( or draw one here automatically), and only have a MUCH smaller table of exceptions here. In any case I have updated this for now so at least the PSMs resolve and will self-update, rather than having to add names locally.
