Biography
Dr. Phil St John completed medical school at the University of Manitoba, a rotating internship at Memorial University of Newfoundland, an internal medicine residency at the University of Manitoba, a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and an MPH (Epidemiology) at Johns Hopkins University. He has been a longstanding member of the Canadian Geriatrics Society and the Canadian Association on Gerontology and was the health sciences section editor of the Canadian Journal on Aging. He is a member of the Geriatric Medicine Specialty Committee of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.Research Interest

Phil St John was born and grew up in Minnedosa. He completed medical school at the University of Manitoba, a rotating internship at Memorial University of Newfoundland, an internal medicine residency at the University of Manitoba, a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Ottawa, and an MPH (Epidemiology) at Johns Hopkins University.
He has been on faculty at the University of Manitoba since 1997. He has an interest in the epidemiology of ageing, and has published on the interplay between cognitive, emotional and physical health, as well as on rural ageing. He was a co-investigator with the Manitoba Study of Health and Aging, and the Canadian Study of Health and Aging. He is currently a co-investigator with the Manitoba Follow-up Study and is the co-lead of the Manitoba site of the Canadian Longitudinal Study of Aging.
He has been a longstanding member of the Canadian Geriatrics Society and the Canadian Association on Gerontology and was the health sciences section editor of the Canadian Journal on Aging.
