Biography

Dr. Peschken received her medical degree (with distinction) from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. She completed her Internal Medicine specialty training at the University of Manitoba, and became Chief Medical Resident, 1992-1993, and then completed her Rheumatology sub-specialty training at the University of Manitoba in 1995. Following her clinical training, she completed an Arthritis Society Research Fellowship including a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University (Dean’s Honor List), with course work both at McGill University and the University of British Columbia, and completing a thesis on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) in Manitoba’s Aboriginal population. Dr. Peschken is the Chair of the Canadian Network for Improved Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
