Creating a new rounds page

From U of M Internal Medicine Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Eventually any of the Rounds run by the department might have an article on this wiki. This allows linking to them from other pages such as Section pages.

How to add a new Rounds

Begin by Creating a new article for the rounds.

Copy the following into the article:

{{Rounds
|UsualTime=
|Section= link to section page
|Location=
|AcademicContact= link to person page
|AdministrativeContact= link to person page
|TeleLinked= yes or no
}}

=== Schedule ===
{| class="wikitable sortable"
|-
! Date   !! Topic !! Presenter
|-
| 2017-02-31 || No such topic || No such presenter
|-
| ...|| ... || ...
|}

Once the data and formatting for this settles I can create an edit form much like the one on the template:person. Ttenbergen 01:22, 4 February 2018 (CST)

Delays in updating articles that are fed by Rounds articles

When a Rounds page is created or updated, other articles depending on that page such as the Rounds article will update automatically.

Sometimes these updates may take a few minutes. To force an update to one of these pages right now (e.g. for testing, don't bother doing this all the time):

  • open the page
  • click on edit tab
  • save without actually changing anything
