Name: Liver Diseases Research Group
Chair:
Function: The principal goal of the liver diseases research group is to enhance the understanding and thereby develop more effective therapy for inflammatory disorders of the hepatobiliary system. Much of the research being performed employs recombinant DNA physiology, animal models and patients with viral hepatitis. The results are relevant to other common liver disorders including alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver, drug induced hepatitis, primary bilary cirrhosis and primary sclerosing cholangitis.
