Semantic Mediawiki

From U of M Internal Medicine Wiki

This wiki uses Semantic Mediawiki, an extension to Mediawiki.

It allows us to generate things like the People list or the Policies list. Whenever you run into content you can't find when you try to edit, you are probably dealing with data generated by Semantic Mediawiki.

Semantic Mediawiki allows for the annotation of data in articles, and then for the querying of that data using a query language. If you think you have run into a problem with it, talk to Tina Tenbergen.

The following information is primarily for IT; most Internal Medicine staff will see the benefits of it but should not have to worry about the nuts and bolts. Having said that, if you are interested check out the links below and feel free to experiment.

Most of the actual use of the queries or annotations is done through templates.
